A Year In Review

This post is super late. I'm aware.
Life has been crazy, but we are trying to get some updates here for you all.

First off, I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We sure did enjoy ours!
It was so great to be back in AZ with our families and enjoy the sun!
It was a wonderful trip, and we are already missing it... but life goes on.
Brad is back in school (all of his professors told him that their class is
the most important class of their entire law careers... what a semester this should be!),
I am back at work, and school is great! So things are good.

The start of a new year is always exciting for me! It is a time of reflection.
If anyone had told me a year ago that I would be where I am now, I would have laughed at them.
But I am so glad and so grateful that I am here.

I got home from my mission on January 21, 2013.

I saw Brad for the first time after my mission  on January 22nd.

Our first post-mission date was February 9th.

We were engaged on March 30th.

Brad decided to attend law school at BYU some time in May... maybe it was April...
This was a time that journaling didn't happen all that often, so I don't know exactly when it was.

I changed my major and began online classes so that I could move with him.
Instead of Music Therapy, I am now studying Family and Human Development.

Brad graduated from ASU with a Bachelors in Spanish Linguistics and Translation.

My Grandpa passed away on June 14th. It was an extremely trying time for all of us.
While he had been ill for many years, it was still very unexpected.
Being so close to the wedding made it more difficult.
I was always Grandpa's girl, and I still think about him every single day.
I do know that he was with us on our wedding day.
This was the last picture I ever took with my Grandpa. It was at my
Grandparent's 25th anniversary party. He was so happy that day!

Brad and I were married in the Mesa Temple on June 21, 2013

We went on a cruise to Mexico for our honeymoon.

We moved to Utah on July 29th.

We filmed for Wheel of Fortune on August 2nd (it will air on Valentines Day).
Pretty sure that only a handful of people even know that this happened...
we can't talk about it, so don't ask!
Just watch the show, okay?
It was a blast and we are looking forward to watching the show.

Brad began law school on August 21st.

I began my new job working as a mentor for foster kids in August.

Brad passed the 3 year mark of his return from his mission.
I tried to make Nicaraguan food... it didn't go so well...

We were called to be primary teachers. At first, we taught two different classes,
but now we get to teach together, and that is fun!

We endured our first snow storms. I never said that we liked it, but we endured :)

Brad survived his first semester of law school.

I started teaching piano lessons again.

We celebrated 6 months as a married couple.

In all, it was a wonderful year! Like everyone, we had our successes and our trials.
We had moments of great joy and times of terrible heartache.
We grew, we worked, we served, we loved.
Like I said, this year was nothing like I thought it would be a year ago, and I am so glad.

2014 is sure to be an amazing year!
We still don't know all that it will hold, but we are looking forward to the adventure.
